Sunday was even nicer! The team showed up at Lake Perry Road race. This race is a five mile circuit with one brutal climb (at the finish line) Tony Thompson raced the men’s category 5 race. He broke a spoke on the last lap and limped in to finish 24th. Alex Ardussi and I raced the men’s category 4 race. 6 laps on the course. In the first lap the leader’s attacked hard at the base of the climb. I was shelled as I watched Alex stand up and attack the hill. As I cleared the top I resolved to catch those I could. Eventually I worked my way back to a chase group with Alex and four Velotek racers as well as several racers from other teams. By the end, there were only four of us left in the chase group. Great race! I finished 14th and Alex finished 15th in a team finish! Shawn Morelli again raced the women’s open. Folks this means the women’s killers. She showed her strength riding at the front of the field. Shawn finished 2nd. Great job!
